Job summary

Burns Sheehan is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to lead the architectural shift from Docker on Kubernetes to a serverless, event-driven model. Based in London (Waterloo) with one day per week on site, you will design and build low-latency backend services in Go and coordinate with a Rust codebase.

You will own backend product engineering and platform tasks, drive high-throughput data pipelines, and explore AI model integration within the product suite.

Qualifications

• Production experience building with GO/Golang and/or Rust.
• Experience designing high throughput data and metrics pipelines and integrating AI models or API endpoints.
• Strong knowledge of serverless technologies, with hands on experience migrating workloads from containerised to serverless environments.
• Experience owning both backend product engineering and some platform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain low latency, high throughput backend services in GO/Golang.
• Lead architectural shift from Docker/Kubernetes to serverless, event-driven model.
• Work with Rust codebase and integrate cutting-edge AI models into the product suite.
• Collaborate with CTO and small team to ensure scalable, reliable backend platforms.
