Job summary

ISR Recruitment supports a major UK Government Agency by appointing an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a mature engineering team. The role focuses on delivering and operating cloud-based digital services within a modern AWS environment.

You will work closely with software engineers, architects and client stakeholders to ensure secure, resilient and highly available services, while supporting incident management, automation and continuous improvement in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer or Platform Engineer with strong AWS experience including EC2, ECS, RDS, DocumentDB and CloudWatch.
• Experience supporting and monitoring live production services.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience in Agile software delivery teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, including direct client interaction.
• Experience in UK Government or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the deployment, operation and continuous improvement of cloud-based services in AWS.
• Monitor health, availability and performance of live production environments.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, application and performance issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify root causes and improvements.
• Support incident management and service restoration for critical applications.
• Contribute to automation and operational best practices.
• Engage with client stakeholders to communicate progress.
