Job summary

Microlise is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract to build data foundations for customer analytics and AI products. You will work on a major cloud data platform programme, turning diverse data into trusted, reusable data products powering dashboards, APIs and self-service analytics.

You'll leverage AWS services, lakehouse architectures and governance-by-design patterns to ensure data is reliable, discoverable and secure, enabling impactful customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL, dbt and Python, and building scalable pipelines and reusable datasets.
• Ability to mentor and coach team members to raise engineering quality.
• Experience delivering AI-ready data products and data contracts.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with lakehouse architecture and medallion patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AWS-based data pipelines and lakehouse structures on AWS.
• Create reusable data products for dashboards, APIs and analytics.
• Embed governance-by-design: metadata, lineage, contracts and access controls.
• Contribute to observability, cost awareness and operational reliability.
