Job summary

Modis is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS) to design, implement and operate secure, scalable AWS environments. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure cloud platforms align with business goals, focusing on automation, governance and continuous improvement.

The role involves infrastructure design, deployment, and ongoing optimization, with opportunities to shape cloud strategy and drive high-availability services across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven AWS design, implementation and management experience.
• Hands-on with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, AWS CLI).
• Knowledge of security, identity management and compliance best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM and Lambda.
• Optimise environments for performance, availability, security and cost.
• Develop and maintain IaC solutions with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Support cloud migration and transformation projects.
• Implement governance, security controls and compliance standards.
• Monitor services and investigate incidents and performance issues.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams and docs.
• Act as senior escalation point for AWS issues.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
• Evaluate new AWS services and propose improvements.
