Job summary

Cognizant Consulting is seeking an AWS Technical Architect in London to own the end-to-end AWS architecture for the NCDS platform, setting the technical direction for secure and scalable cloud solutions. • Eight+ years in solution/technical architecture with AWS.
• Deep expertise across AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, RDS.
• Experience defining IaC standards using Terraform or CloudFormation at programme scale, with governance and security knowledge.
• Proven track record integrating AWS with modern data platforms like Databricks Lakehouse or Delta Lake.
• Experience chairing Technical Design Authority or equivalent and engaging senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and leadership to mentor architects and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end AWS solution architecture for the NCDS platform, defining target-state architecture, reference patterns and adoption standards.
• Set direction for platform-scale infrastructure across services including VPC, IAM, S3, Glue, Kinesis, EC2, Lambda and RDS, and establish IaC standards using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Architect ingestion, processing and integration pipelines that connect NCDS with adjacent AWS services and modern data platforms, while resolving cross-team architectural risks and dependencies.
• Define and embed governance, security, data protection and architecture assurance controls; chair Technical Design Authority reviews and lead designs through formal stakeholder approval.
• Act as the senior technical authority for AWS architecture decisions, communicate complex strategy clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, and mentor architects and engineers.
