Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer in Preston with hybrid working arrangements. You will act as the Azure Virtual Desktop SME, delivering large-scale integration and migration outcomes across Azure infrastructure, identity and end-user computing.

You will design, build and support AVD environments, manage host pools, app groups and scaling, and implement secure, identity-driven IaC practices across the stack, including FSLogix, Entra ID and Zscaler.

Qualifications

Experience designing and operating AVD environments.
Expertise with host pools, app groups, workspaces and session hosts.
Strong background in Azure infrastructure and security.
Experience creating golden images and automated deployment.
Knowledge of FSLogix profiles and app masking.
Proficient in identity management and PIM governance.
Familiar with Zero Trust and RBAC concepts.
Automation via PowerShell and IaC tooling.
Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, build, configure and support Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
Manage host pools, application groups, workspaces, session hosts and scaling plans.
Design and implement Azure infrastructure to align with architecture.
Create golden images and automate image build/deployment processes.
Work with FSLogix profiles and App Masking.
Support application packaging, virtualization and deployment.
Configure Microsoft Entra ID, PIM and Identity Governance.
Implement Zero Trust security principles and RBAC.
Develop PowerShell automation and support IaC initiatives.
Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis.
Maintain deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
