Job summary

Bilfinger UK in Fareham is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to deliver end-to-end automation solutions across sectors including Nuclear, Oil & Gas, and Chemicals. You will lead technical delivery and mentor engineers, coordinating with project managers to meet scope, time, and budget.

You will work with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, AVEVA and Ignition platforms, ensuring design integrity, testing and commissioning in line with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Detailed experience across the full project life cycle from specification through design, development, testing and on-site commissioning is essential.
• Hands-on delivery experience of PLC and SCADA systems is required.
• Good understanding of control panels, electrical installation and instrumentation solutions.
• Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status or progression desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical project scope and ensure successful outcomes within budget and schedule.
• Allocate tasks, supervise progress, and advise the project manager on risks and issues.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and engineering teams to ensure smooth lifecycle progression.
• Identify opportunities for reusable modules and standardisation.
• Contribute to site surveys, design studies and development of FDS/DDS/test specs.
