Job summary

MERITUS is recruiting for a Lead Control Systems Engineer to deliver PLC, SCADA and automation solutions across UK energy infrastructure projects. The role requires technical leadership across the full engineering lifecycle, coordinating with PMs, electrical and cyber security teams, and customers.

You will design, implement and assure control systems on Schneider, Siemens and Rockwell platforms, leading FAT, SAT and handover, with travel to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering industrial control systems through the full lifecycle.
• Strong PLC programming on Schneider Electric, Siemens or Rockwell platforms.
• Experience with SCADA, HMI and industrial automation.
• Willingness to travel and hold a UK driving licence.
• Degree in Control Systems, Automation, Electrical or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for PLC, SCADA, HMI and automation systems.
• Develop control philosophies and design specifications.
• Lead PLC software development and technical assurance across platforms.
• Design and integrate SCADA/HMI solutions with alarms and reports.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across teams.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and project handover.
• Mentor and coach engineers within the control systems team.
