Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Lead Controls & Automation Engineer for a major manufacturing site in the North West near Wigan. You will lead automation projects, specify PLC/SCADA solutions and drive standards across multi-site capital investments.

You’ll act as technical authority, manage suppliers, mentor engineers and shape the automation architecture to deliver reliable, scalable automation across a business undergoing significant investment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience in automation project delivery within manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead supplier engagements and drive standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation investment projects from concept through commissioning.
• Design and specify PLC, SCADA and automation solutions.
• Develop and maintain automation architecture and engineering standards.
• Mentor Automation Engineers and coach teams to continuous improvement.
• Manage external systems integrators and automation suppliers.
