Job summary

Alkegen is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer to lead PLC and SCADA projects across its manufacturing sites. You will drive safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements through automation, instrumentation and data-driven controls within a high-output environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver capital projects from concept to commissioning, while mentoring maintenance staff and promoting best practices in industrial networking and safety

Qualifications

• Experience programming, commissioning and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron PLC platforms.
• Experience developing and modifying HMI and SCADA systems.
• Experience delivering automation projects from concept through commissioning.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience; Six Sigma Yellow Belt desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safety: ensure automation, controls and electrical systems meet site safety standards.
• Quality: maintain control systems for product quality and process stability.
• Cost: identify automation solutions to reduce waste and energy use.
• Delivery: improve equipment reliability, OEE and throughput.
• Improvement: drive PLC, HMI and SCADA enhancements and roadmaps.
• People: provide technical leadership to maintenance and operations teams.
