Job summary
Holt Engineering in Christchurch, Dorset is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to own the installation, commissioning and qualification of a new high-speed automated assembly line in a highly regulated medical-device environment.
Role includes technical ownership, involvement across existing equipment and future capital projects, and hands-on leadership developing into broader automation strategy. Strong PLC and vision system experience required.
Qualifications
- Experience with high-speed automated assembly for medical devices/regulatory environments.
- Proven automation project delivery from concept through production release.
- Hands-on fault finding with leadership, validation, and supplier management.
- Experience validating equipment and processes for regulated manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation, commissioning and qualification of high-speed equipment.
- Manage automation projects from concept to production release.
- Coordinate with machine builders, integrators and suppliers.
- Develop URS, FDS, DQ, IQ, OQ and PQ documentation.
- Support process validation and ensure suitable for regulated manufacture.
- Mentor engineers on automation best practice
