Job summary

Curtiss-Wright seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Christchurch, Dorset site. You will lead manufacturing process development, tooling design, and cell layouts, while driving improvements across production and supporting multiple sites.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in electro‑mechanical manufacturing, strong ERP and CAD skills, and a collaborative mindset to advance Lean initiatives and new product introductions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in a similar electro‑mechanical manufacturing role (low/med/high volume)
• Awareness of modern manufacturing philosophies and techniques
• Computer literate: MS Word, MS Excel, SolidWorks
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Knowledge of material processing
• Basic Pneumatics/Hydraulics
• Organized
• Team player with cross‑functional collaboration
• Good communication across departments

Responsibilities

• Assist in introduction of new products to production
• Work with Engineering on DFM/testability/manufacturability and new product design
• Develop new manufacturing processes and build guides
• Design and produce assembly jigs and fixtures
• Layout manufacturing cells with tooling and services
• Suggest and implement improvements to current production processes
• Investigate and solve manufacturing problems
• Investigate quality problems from builds and suppliers
• Identify new production methods and tooling
• Design and prototype tooling
• Recommend improvements to methods of manufacture
• Update build guides with changes
• Investigate faults and prevent recurrence
• Lean tools knowledge (5S, CI)
• Support production across all sites
• Automation knowledge
• Collaborate with other Engineering departments
• Own departmental projects
• Ensure equipment is available and safe
