Job summary

Insite Group is seeking an Audit Senior in Watford to lead and deliver audits across a diverse client base. You will plan engagements, supervise junior staff, and work closely with managers and partners to ensure high-quality outputs within deadlines.

You'll split time between audit and accounts preparation (roughly 80/20), benefit from hybrid working, and access structured training and clear progression opportunities as part of a supportive team that values technical excellence and work-life

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification.
• Minimum 2.5 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong audit experience across varied client sectors.
• Good technical knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
• Confident communicator with strong client relations.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritise effectively.
• Familiarity with audit software would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and deliver audit assignments from start to finish.
• Manage audit engagements for a broad client portfolio, including larger entities.
• Supervise, mentor and review junior team members.
• Prepare statutory and consolidated financial statements under FRS102.
• Produce draft corporation tax computations.
• Identify audit findings and recommend improvements.

• Assist with accounts preparation for limited companies, partnerships and LLPs.
• Ensure timely delivery within budgets and deadlines.
• Build strong client relationships as the main contact.

This position offers a varied workload, combining approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts preparation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of client-facing audit work and technical accounting responsibilities.
The Audit Senior will work closely with managers and partners while supporting the development of junior team members across a varied portfolio of clients operating within the accountancy sector.
What you'll be doing

• Planning, leading and delivering audit assignments from start to completion.
• Managing audit engagements for a wide-ranging client portfolio, including larger and more complex organisations.
• Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
• Preparing statutory and consolidated financial statements under FRS102.
• Producing draft corporation tax computations.
• Identifying audit findings and preparing recommendations for management.
• Assisting with group reporting requirements and component audit assignments.
• Supporting the preparation of accounts for limited companies, partnerships and LLPs.
• Ensuring assignments are delivered to agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact throughout engagements.

What we're looking for
