Job summary

A leading accountancy firm in Borehamwood is seeking an Audit Senior to manage diverse audit assignments while developing junior staff and maintaining client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess an ACA or ACCA qualification and strong knowledge of UK auditing standards. This role provides excellent growth potential within a supportive team culture, alongside a competitive salary range of £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.

Overview

Audit Senior£50,000 - £55,000
North London

The Role

As an Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for delivering audits across a diverse client base while supporting the development of junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Managing audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Leading audit fieldwork and coordinating on-site teams
  • Identifying key audit risks and designing appropriate testing procedures
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance
  • Preparing draft statutory financial statements in line with FRS 102
  • Assisting with corporation tax computations and liaising with specialist colleagues where required
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and resolving queries throughout the audit process
  • Completing audit documentation and final analytical reviews to a high professional standard
  • Supporting and coaching junior team members to help develop their technical skills
  • Ensuring work is delivered in line with professional standards and internal procedures

The role provides exposure to a varied portfolio including limited companies, groups and not-for-profit organisations across the wider accountancy client base.

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring strong technical knowledge along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and communicate confidently with clients and colleagues.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Previous audit experience gained within a UK practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards and financial reporting frameworks
  • Experience supervising or reviewing junior staff
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • High attention to detail and analytical capability
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Experience using audit software such as CaseWare or similar systems would be advantageous
