Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Audit Senior for a well-established accountancy practice in the United Kingdom. The role offers a varied workload across audit, accounts and taxation, with responsibility for supporting junior team members and working closely with the Portfolio Manager.

The ideal candidate will have prior practice experience with a strong audit background, be able to plan and lead audits, and manage client relationships efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience in accountancy practice with a strong audit background.
• Experience planning and leading audit assignments.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
• Experience supervising or training junior staff.
• Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification/studies advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Portfolio Manager with the management and delivery of client assignments.
• Plan and lead audits, working with a mixed team or independently where appropriate.
• Ensure audit plans and programmes are followed and liaise with the Audit Manager regarding on-site work.
• Monitor and assist audit trainees throughout assignments.
• Review and prepare accounts as required.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure submissions are completed within relevant deadlines.
• Monitor control files and report progress to the Portfolio Manager.
• Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Train Accounts trainees and monitor their progress.
• Assist with staff allocations, billing and monitoring work in progress.
• Assist clients with accounting software and computer-related queries.
• Correspond with clients and external agencies, including HMRC.
• Provide wider support to the accounts and audit team as required.
