Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD are seeking an experienced Audit Senior for a well-established accountancy practice in Oswestry. The role covers audits, accounts and taxation, with responsibility for mentoring junior team members and coordinating with the Portfolio Manager.

The ideal candidate will have strong audit experience in practice, be capable of planning and leading assignments, and possess good communication and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience with a strong audit background.
• Experience planning and leading audit assignments.
• Good knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
• Experience supervising or training junior staff.
• Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Portfolio Manager with the management and delivery of client assignments.
• Plan and lead audits, working with a mixed team or independently where appropriate.
• Ensure audit plans and programmes are followed and liaise with the Audit Manager regarding on-site work.
• Monitor and assist audit trainees throughout assignments.
• Review and prepare accounts as required.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure submissions are completed within relevant deadlines.
• Monitor control files and report progress to the Portfolio Manager.
• Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Train Accounts trainees and monitor their progress.
• Assist with staff allocations, billing and monitoring work in progress.
• Assist clients with accounting software and computer-related queries.
• Correspond with clients and external agencies, including HMRC.
• Provide wider support to the accounts and audit team as required.
