Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join their Corporate department in Oswestry. You will manage client assignments, plan and lead audits, and support junior team members while working closely with the Portfolio Manager.

The role offers a varied workload across audit, accounts and taxation, with a path to professional development. The package includes competitive salary and benefits dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous accountancy practice experience with a strong audit background.
• Experience planning and leading audit assignments.
• Experience supervising or training junior staff.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification/studies advantageous, although relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead audits, working with a mixed team or independently where appropriate.
• Assist the Portfolio Manager with the management and delivery of client assignments.
• Review and prepare accounts as required.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure submissions are completed within relevant deadlines.
• Monitor and assist audit trainees throughout assignments.
• Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
• Train Accounts trainees and monitor their progress.
• Assist with staff allocations, billing and monitoring work in progress.
• Assist clients with accounting software and computer-related queries.
• Correspond with clients and external agencies, including HMRC.
• Provide wider support to the accounts and audit team as required.
