Job summary

Moore Kingston Smith in Isle of Wight seeks an audit professional to lead audits for owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate clients. You’ll develop leadership skills, oversee fieldwork, and work closely with partners and directors to deliver high-quality services.

You will mentor junior staff, build client relationships, and contribute to business development while travelling to South Coast locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading audits for owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate clients.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial reporting frameworks.
• Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with clients and team.
• Willingness to travel across the South Coast as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning through to completion, including fieldwork, review and finalisation.
• Ensure budgets are achieved and deadlines are met.
• Prepare and review financial statements under FRS 102 and related frameworks.
• Deliver a complete audit file for managers to review.
• Supervise on-site audit teams and mentor juniors.
• Handle substantive and controls-based audits across clients.
• Draft management recommendations post fieldwork and close-out agendas.
• Build and maintain client relationships with Partners and Directors.
• Promote the firm’s services and identify BD opportunities.
• Deliver high-quality, professional and responsive client service.
• Assist with special projects and client seminars as needed.
• Collaborate with Managers to support junior staff development.
• Attend client gatherings or seminars as required.
• Identify and progress business development opportunities with clients.
