Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Adviser for its Audit, Accounting & Advisory team. You will be based in Blackburn or Bury with flexible hybrid working, handling predominantly statutory audits for a varied corporate client base and supporting year-end accounts work.

The role is ideal for a part-qualified or post-qualified accountant with strong audit experience, offering development, ongoing training, and clear progression opportunities within a forward-thinking firm.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA/ACCA.
• Relevant accountancy or audit experience is essential.
• Study support available for those continuing their professional qualifications.
• Previous experience in an accountancy practice in an audit or mixed audit and accounts role.
• Strong experience undertaking statutory audits.
• Experience supervising or supporting junior audit team members is advantageous.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive approach with ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
• Genuine interest in developing client relationships and providing excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory audits for a varied portfolio of corporate clients.
• Assist with year-end accounts preparation and advisory assignments.
• Manage and supervise audit teams to ensure high-quality work.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with managers, directors and partners on audit assignments.
• Provide training and support to junior team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve audit quality and efficiency.
• Progress towards taking responsibility for smaller audits and direct reporting to Responsible Individuals.
