Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. in Luton is seeking an Audit and Accounts Senior to support managers and directors in delivering client portfolios. The role is a 60/40 split between audit and accounts with hybrid working, flexible hours, and a clear path for progression.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified with at least 3 years of experience, strong UK GAAP knowledge, and the ability to manage fieldwork and junior staff within a reputable practice of about 50 staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in audit and accounts in practice.
• Experience managing audit fieldwork and junior staff.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) and, where applicable, IFRS, ensuring high technical standards and timely completion.
• Manage audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork and completion, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards, budgets and deadlines.
• Prepare and review corporation tax computations, personal tax returns and P11Ds, identifying tax planning opportunities and ensuring accurate, timely submissions.
• Resolve technical accounting, auditing and tax queries, escalating complex matters where appropriate, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and provide a professional, responsive service.
• Lead, supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback and supporting their professional development.
• Manage assignment workflows and resources, ensuring work is appropriately allocated, reviewed and completed to the required standard within agreed timescales.
• Support wider practice activities, including company secretarial work, management accounts, HMRC enquiries, business development, training and ad hoc projects.
