Experience
The purpose of this role is to:
- Actively support the Assurance Team in ensuring delivery and compliance across all project objectives, targets, and KPIs.
- Plan and complete Assurance Audits in line with the Assurance Plan.
- Support or lead significant Event Investigations with the principal contractor.
- Drive, deliver, and encourage innovation to achieve project objectives, targets, and KPIs.
- Liaise with the BYLOR operational site teams to raise awareness, share, and embed learnings from Event Investigations, parent companies, and trend analysis.
Specific Duties
You will be expected to:
- Lead or support the ongoing development of the SMS.
- Support implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Provide assurance support and advice to BYLOR team members and subcontractors.
- Report and communicate effectively with senior team members.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections, record observations, and ensure actions are completed.
- Attend relevant meetings such as Progress and HSE SHELT meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with NNB Construction and Safety teams.
- Support audits by parent companies, clients, principal contractors, and external bodies.
- Oversee the collation of client-driven monthly HSE KPIs.
- Maintain relationships with the Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and regulatory teams.
- Ensure timely case management and claim processes.
- Attend monthly claims meetings with parent and external companies.
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications Required
- ISO 45001 requirements (auditor experience preferred).
- Auditor training and experience with Safety Management Systems.
- Practical safety management experience in construction (>5 years).
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (desirable).
