Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyers (solicitor, barrister or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
• Experience advising on regulatory, competition, consumer, media, technology, online safety, data protection or public law.
• Ability to work with increasing independence and take on ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a portfolio of legal work across diverse projects independently.
• Provide risk-based analysis and strategic advice on matters which raise new and significant points of law.
• Draft regulatory conditions, rules, codes and guidance and statutory instruments.
• Help to conduct litigation and support enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Ofcom from a range of disciplines.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including central government and regulators.
• Support more junior lawyers, including in a peer review capacity.
• Contribute to strengthening Ofcom by identifying challenges and implementing solutions.
