Job summary

Fisher German LLP is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Planner to establish and grow our Strategic Planning presence in Manchester and the North West. You will lead projects across the region, advise on opportunities and constraints, and help build client relationships while expanding our planning team.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience within either consultancy, development or local government.
• Excellent understanding of the UK planning system.
• Experience of promoting and delivering residential, commercial or strategic land projects.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• The ability to manage client relationships confidently and independently.
• A proactive and entrepreneurial approach to business development.
• Knowledge and experience of the North West / West Midlands planning market would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a wide range of planning projects throughout the North West / West Midlands and beyond.
• Prepare and oversee planning appraisals, planning applications, appeals and promotion strategies.
• Advise landowners, developers, investors, housebuilders and private clients on planning opportunities and constraints.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support business development activities and identify opportunities for new work.
• Work closely with colleagues across the wider Fisher German business, including development, agency, infrastructure and rural teams.
• Help shape and grow the Manchester / Birmingham planning offer.
