Senior Associate Management Consultant

Role Context:

The regional (EMEA) Worley Consulting team is expanding again this year, building on a successful strategy update and targeted hiring in the past year. Individuals with non-traditional backgrounds are welcome but must have a consulting mindset to support business growth into new energy-related areas and to help existing clients navigate the energy transition. This role focuses on supporting upstream, midstream, and LNG clients, with an emphasis on integrated gas, decarbonisation, and high-end consulting support.

Reporting to the Regional Director within our Upstream, Midstream & LNG (UMLNG) business line, the candidate will be an Expert Individual Contributor applying understanding of business strategies, culture, and work to execute strategic consulting services supporting traditional hydrocarbons operators and investors.

Typical projects include:

  • Global CO2 value chain master planning
  • National CO2 and H2 infrastructure strategy
  • Lender's Technical Advisor for CCS
  • Vendor due diligence for natural gas assets
  • LNG strategy development for major energy companies
  • 1700 km onshore pipeline conceptual screening
  • Offshore field development planning

Responsibilities:

  • Define approach, scope, and commercials of assignments. Lead proposal development.
  • Support and/or lead complex projects, including:

o FEL (Front End Loading) 0, 1, and 2 greenfield and brownfield upstream and midstream projects (including terminals, shipping, and pipelines).

o Technical and commercial due diligence for financial institutions and owners.

o Asset and portfolio optimisation, including decarbonisation strategies.

  • Manage project resources (not line management).
  • Perform cost estimation and economic analysis to support business cases.
  • Support key client accounts and develop new client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop future talent through on-the-job learning.

Qualifications and Skills:

Preferred:

  • 20+ years of relevant experience, recognized as an expert
  • Existing client relationships, new to Worley
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence in technical and commercial decision-making discussions
  • Familiarity with consulting business models (high margin, lower billability)

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant technical or business degree (e.g., engineering). Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • Based in London preferred due to team location
  • Willingness to travel internationally on short trips
  • Open to part-time and flexible working arrangements, including job sharing.
