Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins in Exeter seeks a Senior Associate/Legal Director to lead our Leasehold Enfranchisement practice within the Property Disputes Team. You will act for landlords and leaseholders on extension, collective enfranchisement and rights of first refusal, balancing commercial goals with legal precision.

Experience: 5+ years PQE in leasehold enfranchisement, strong client-facing and drafting skills, and the ability to manage complex cases to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PQE in leasehold enfranchisement from a reputable firm.
• Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold enfranchisement.
• Drive, enthusiasm and client focus.
• Commercial awareness.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Strong technical and written/spoken communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and client facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Statutory lease extension claims.
• Collective enfranchisement claims.
• Right to Manage claims.
• Tenants' rights of first refusal.
• Enfranchisement reform advisory.
• Advising a mixed client base from public and private sector.
• Managing lease extension and enfranchisement claims for landlords and leaseholders.
• Negotiating settlements and advising on proposed terms.
• Building and maintaining client relationships.
• Participating in marketing initiatives and training sessions.
• Preparing reports to clients.
• Ensuring files are managed in Lexcel compliance.
