Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins LLP in Birmingham seeks a Senior Associate/Legal Director to support the leasehold enfranchisement team within the Property Disputes practice. You will act for landlords and leaseholders on extensions, collective enfranchisement and right to manage.

The role requires at least five years’ post-qualification experience, strong knowledge of enfranchisement, and a proactive, client‑focussed approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post-qualification experience in leasehold enfranchisement or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold enfranchisement essential.
• Drive, enthusiasm and client focus.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work to deadlines.
• Strong technical and communication skills (written and spoken).
• Good interpersonal and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Support enfranchisement team for landlords and tenants.
• Advise on right to manage and related legislation.
• Manage statutory lease extension and enfranchisement claims, with deadlines.
• Negotiate settlements and terms with opposing parties.
• Build and maintain effective client relationships.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives and business development.
• Prepare reports to clients and ensure Lexcel compliance.
