Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland in London seeks an Associate/Senior Associate with 2–6 PQE to join our Credit and Payments practice. You will work on consumer credit regimes, regulatory compliance, and drafting for major finance clients.

You will engage in due diligence, client advisory work, and cross-team collaboration, with opportunities for mentoring and business development in a dynamic, AI-enhanced environment.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of consumer credit, payments and regulatory frameworks in financial services.
• Strong risk assessment and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships at senior levels.
• Proven ability to draft high-quality legal documents and agreements.

Responsibilities

• Draft and advise on Consumer Credit Act matters and related regulations.
• Advising on FCA handbook requirements (CONC, BCOBS, MCOB, consumer duty).
• Counsel on retail credit and payments products from design to sales processes.
• Assist with regulatory change and client implementations.
• Support authorisations applications in payments/e-money sectors.
• Conduct due diligence in corporate support transactions.
• Deliver training to clients and internal teams.
