Job summary

Eversheds Sutherland in London is recruiting an Associate/Senior Associate to join our Consumer/Retail Finance team within CAPG. You will draft and advise on the Consumer Credit Act and related regimes, and work on FCA handbook requirements.

The role involves advising on retail consumer credit, payments products, due diligence for corporate transactions, and collaborating with other teams while mentoring junior colleagues. Strong client relationship and business development skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–6 PQE with London office experience.
• Deep Financial Services sector knowledge and regulatory awareness.
• Strong judgment to assess risk and deliver high-quality advice.
• Ability to coach, supervise and mentor junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication, persuasion and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and advising on Consumer Credit Act and related regimes.
• Advising on FCA handbook requirements (CONC, BCOBS, MCOB, consumer duty).
• Advising on retail consumer credit and payments products from design to sales.
• Assisting with regulatory change and client implementation.
• Advising on FSMA perimeter and payments/e-money authorisations.
• Due diligence for corporate support transactions.
• Collaborate with other Eversheds teams; provide training to clients.
• Engage in business development and client relationship building.
