Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins in the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to focus on developments in the energy market. The role involves advising on procurement, negotiation and management of heat networks, energy projects and large retrofit programmes, and supporting regulatory issues relating to electricity and heat networks.

You will build client relationships, participate in marketing to the energy sector, and contribute to a team known for its academic excellence and commitment to equity,

Qualifications

• 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience from a reputable firm or in-house.
• Experience on regulatory issues relating to utilities; energy projects and heat networks.
• Excellent technical skills; strong client focus.
• Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines.
• Ability to deal with innovative structures and bespoke documents.
• Drive and enthusiasm; commercial awareness; excellent academic record.

Responsibilities

• Advising developers, landlords and operators on heat networks procurement, negotiation and management.
• Advising on energy projects including solar, wind and battery storage.
• Advising on large-scale retrofit programmes including grant-funded and energy-as-a-service models.
• Support on regulatory issues relating to electricity and heat networks.
• Advising on utility connections including ICP and IDNO arrangements.
• Advising on Power Purchase Agreements and Heat Supply Agreements.
• Advising on EV chargepoints and related infrastructure.
• Active participation in marketing initiatives aimed at the energy sector.
• Building and maintaining effective client relationships.
