Job summary

Aldwych Consulting seeks an Associate/Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to lead building services projects in Plymouth or Exeter. You will manage client relationships, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive technical excellence across commercial, residential and healthcare schemes.

The role requires Chartered status (Senior Associate) or progress towards it, with strong leadership, mentoring and business development capabilities. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services regulations and design standards.
• Experience delivering projects and managing client relationships.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Commercial awareness: project costs, scope and risk.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key client contact, developing briefs and managing relationships.
• Represent the consultancy at client, design and project meetings.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including specialist groups.
• Manage workloads, priorities and internal project meetings.
• Deliver high-quality projects with commercial awareness.
• Monitor expenditure, resources, costs and risks.
• Delegate, review and check work of junior engineers.
• Support development, mentoring and progression of team members.
• Ensure designs meet relevant standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines and external consultants.
• Build relationships with clients and contractors to support repeat business.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practice.
