• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Extensive experience delivering electrical building services projects.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• Proven ability to lead project teams and manage client relationships.
• Experience mentoring engineers and graduates.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage project finances.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.

We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Senior Associate Electrical Design Engineer to play a key leadership role in our Cambridge Building Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical excellence, client leadership and business development while helping shape the future of a growing team.

You’ll lead the delivery of innovative, high-quality electrical design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects, spanning education, commercial, residential, healthcare and the public sector. From early concept through to completion, you’ll influence design decisions, solve complex engineering challenges and help deliver buildings that make a real difference to the people who use them.

What you’ll be doing

• You’ll identify and secure new opportunities through existing client relationships and business development.
• You’ll contribute to fee proposals, project planning, risk management and financial performance, while promoting innovation, digital delivery and best practice

About you

You’re a confident, collaborative engineering professional who enjoys combining technical leadership with developing people and building successful client relationships. You’re commercially aware, solutions-focused and motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to both projects and business growth.

• You’ll have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• You’ll be a Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership, with a recognised professional institution such as the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
• You’ll bring significant experience of designing and delivering electrical building services projects, together with a strong understanding of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• You’ll communicate clearly, manage stakeholders confidently and have experience of leading project teams and client relationships.
• You’ll have a strong record of mentoring and developing engineers and graduates.
• You’ll combine commercial awareness with a sound understanding of project financial management.
• You’ll also have experience of working in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
