Job summary

Capital Law Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Associate/Principal Associate to join our Construction team. You will work with the Head of Construction to grow the contentious workload and shape strategy for the practice, serving clients from commercial developers to authorities.

You should be a qualified solicitor with 5–10 years PQE and strong contentious construction experience, including adjudication, ADR, mediation and arbitration.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with strong background in construction law (5–10 years PQE).
• Contentious construction experience essential, with ability to run adjudication.
• Desire to grow and lead the contentious area of practice.
• Business development skills and willingness to attend networking events.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Collaborative approach and comfortable working in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience in non-contentious construction advice is beneficial but not essential.
• Existing following would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Grow the contentious workload within the team and influence strategy with the Head of Construction.
• Lead a contentious practice to service existing and new clients.
• Draft papers and papers for adjudication and ADR processes; manage litigation when required.
