Job summary

AZTRUM in Epsom is seeking an experienced Associate Architect for a senior role to drive project delivery, leadership and business development within a growing practice. You will lead projects from concept to completion, manage programmes and budgets, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams while nurturing client relationships.

Experience in Life Sciences or Healthcare is essential, with a proven track record at Senior Associate/Director level and an established network of contacts.

Qualifications

• ARB registered Architect with a UK architectural qualification.
• Significant post-qualification experience within UK architectural practice.
• Proven experience delivering architectural projects on time and to budget.
• Strong commercial awareness including fees, invoicing, cash flow and project financial performance.
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing architectural teams.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR responsibilities.
• Understanding of health and safety management within architectural practice.
• Excellent design, technical, communication and client-facing skills.
• Proven business development and marketing experience with ability to generate new work.
• Established client network and sector contacts to bring with you.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through to completion, taking ownership of project delivery.
• Manage project programmes, deadlines, budgets, resources and overall project performance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
• Manage client and consultant relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout projects.
• Oversee design, planning and technical delivery.
• Manage project finances, including cash flow, invoicing, fees and commercial performance.
• Provide effective people management and leadership, including mentoring and team development.
• Support recruitment, resource planning and continued development of the team.
• Maintain health and safety procedures and responsibilities across projects and the studio.
• Contribute to bids, tenders and wider business development activity.
• Identify and develop new client and project opportunities, generating work through your network.
