Qualifications

Qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE.
Strong technical background in private client and ability to autonomously manage a varied, and complex, caseload.
Ability to mentor and supervise junior team members.
Experience within the Cardiff market or local network advantageous.
Keen business developer with commercial acumen and growth mindset.
STEP qualification or working towards this.

Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload including wills, trusts, estate administration, probate, tax and succession planning.
Advise clients on long-term planning and cross-generation strategies.
Develop client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

About The Role

Private Client Senior Associate

We are seeking an experienced private client lawyer to join our private client team based in our Cardiff office. This private client lawyer will be joining at senior associate level and play a key role in the growth of the private client team and Cardiff office.

Our Private Client team is one of the largest and most highly regarded in the country, with around 120 specialists working across the HCR network. Consistently recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, our team includes many lawyers ranked amongst the leading specialists in their field.

We advise a broad spectrum of clients, including HNW and UHNW individuals, families, business owners, trustees and landed estates, delivering strategic advice across all aspects of private client work.

Our nationally recognised Private Client team is looking to recruit a private client solicitor to join them at Senior Associate level. You’ll be joining our successful private client team in our growing Cardiff office.

We advise a broad range of clients to include HNW individuals, business owners, agricultural clients, private family trusts and families across multiple generations. The private client team is widely recognised for the quality of its work and collaborative approach.

You’ll have the opportunity to manage a high quality and varied caseload to include wills, trusts, estate administration, probate, tax and succession planning. You’ll work closely with clients on long term planning, often supporting families across generations.

As an experienced private client lawyer, you will be confidently managing complex matters, building strong client relationships and acting as a dependable member of the team. You’ll enjoy autonomy, whilst supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues as the team continues to grow.

Alongside your technical work, you’ll be encouraged to play an active role in business development and strengthening relationships both across the firm and externally across your wider professional network. You will take part in the wider initiative to build the firm’s profile across the Cardiff market.

About You

Qualified solicitor, or CILEX lawyer, with atleast 5 years’ PQE.
Show a strong, technical background in private client and be able to autonomously manage a varied, and complex, caseload.
Be able to mentor and supervise junior members of the team.
Experience within the Cardiff market, an existing local network would be advantageous.
A keen business developer who is able to build connections, manage relationships effectively, have a strong commercial acumen and demonstrate a growth mindset.
You will ideally be STEP qualified or working towards this.
