Responsibilities

  • Manage general supplies and lead ordering of clinical stock and consumables.
  • Coordinate with cochlear implant manufacturers for repairs and supplies.
  • Lead six-month stock takes for the Cochlear Implant Department.
  • Assess patient device status and troubleshoot device-related issues.

Job overview

We are offering an opportunity to join the Cochlear Implant Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your personal skills in a role that combines clinical and non‑clinical elements. The clinical remit to the role includes assisting senior clinicians in CI appointments, remote troubleshooting, managing patient queries, managing transition patients and overseeing calibration and repairs.

The non‑clinical remit includes management of stock and ordering, liaison for cochlear implant companies, audit, research and project work and administrative support to the clinicians

Main duties of the job
  • To be the main point of contact for all queries relating to cochlear implant equipment. Including managing requests for spare/replacement parts and batteries and posting them out to families/other professionals
  • To provide troubleshooting advice for cochlear implant users as required
  • Prepare clinical rooms for use including daily calibration and preparation of equipment, daily cleaning and maintaining toys, restocking clinical consumables
  • To manage general supplies for the team and take a lead in ordering clinical stock and consumables
  • To be responsible for co‑ordinating supplies and repairs with the Cochlear Implant Manufacturers
  • To take a lead role in completing six monthly stock takes for the Cochlear Implant Department.
  • To be first point of contact for all cochlear implant device related queries. To assess the patient device and troubleshoot any problems
