Senior Assistant Accountant

Location: Halesowen

Salary: 32,000-36,000

Type: Full Time/Permanent

We are delighted to be working with our valued client, a well-established and growing organisation, to recruit an experienced Senior Contract Accountant.

This is a broad and hands-on role within the core finance team, combining traditional management accounting with commercial finance business partnering. You will play an integral role in driving performance, providing insight, and supporting business decision-making during a key period.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, collaborating with department heads
• Provide financial insights and reporting to operational teams and senior leadership
• Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and scenario planning
• Work with non-finance stakeholders to influence outcomes and ensure budget adherence
• Drive process improvements and support internal controls
• Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements
• Mentor junior finance staff and support team development

Skills & Requirements:

• At least 50% through a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a management or financial accountant role
• Strong commercial acumen and experience working with non-finance teams
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Excel and finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite)
• Able to start quickly and add value in a contract setting
