Job summary

Lifeways is seeking a Senior Assessment Manager (Referrals & Assessment) to operate in a homebased role covering the North East. You will manage a substantial referrals caseload, lead on complex high‑risk assessments, and own decisions on suitability, compatibility and risk while coaching a team of Assessment Practitioners.

You will work between BD, Operations, Quality and Finance to ensure that what we win is deliverable safely and sustainably, shaping assessment practice across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong experience assessing complex needs within health or social care.
• Hands-on in practice with managing a caseload of referrals.
• Ability to make high-stakes decisions around risk, suitability and delivery.
• Balance quality, commercial reality and operational delivery.
• Influence across multiple teams and challenge when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of referrals (approx. 50%).
• Lead on complex, high-risk and high-value assessments.
• Make ownership decisions on suitability, compatibility and risk.
• Coach and develop a team of Assessment Practitioners.
• Progress referrals into deliverable, sustainable placements.
• Collaborate with BD, Operations, Quality and Finance to align decisions.
• Identify risks early and support mobilisation planning.
• Feed learning from outcomes back into assessment practice.
