Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Senior Assistant Pharmaceutical Officer to join the Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit in Cambridge. The role emphasizes aseptic processing, thorough documentation, and training to ensure safe delivery of sterile medicines, including chemotherapy and clinical trial materials for patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sterile production unit within the NHS or Commercial sector.
• To undertake education and training relevant to the post to demonstrate competence.
• To undertake aseptic processing of patient medicines and related products including clinical trials materials.
• To achieve an NVQ in level 2 within six months of commencing the post.

Responsibilities

• Documentation and assembly of items prior to processing and completion of records.
• Aseptic processing of medicines and related products.
• Volume checking (in-process) accreditation to supervise aseptic processes.
• Maintenance of cleanliness and stock levels in the clean rooms and preparative services unit.
• Delivery of finished products to wards and departments.
