Job summary

Network Rail Scotland is seeking a Senior Engineer [Asbestos] to lead asbestos management across Scotland's operational assets, reporting to the DEAM and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. You will provide expert technical advice, support risk management, and work with asset managers to drive improvements in safety and asset management across the region.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and management.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in asset management and risk assurance.
• Proactive and solution-focused in risk management.

Responsibilities

• Act as regional single point of contact for asbestos management.
• Update ORAMP and related communication materials.
• Deliver workshops to embed the asbestos management plan.
• Coordinate annual asbestos re-surveys and remediation works.
• Perform Level 1 assurance of DEAM asbestos management activities.
• Perform Level 2 assurance of Maintenance, Works Delivery and Capital Delivery.
• Maintain regional asbestos KPIs and reporting.
• Liaise with Maintenance Delivery Units to improve processes.
• Participate in national asbestos management groups.
