Job summary

CHQ Architects Ltd is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead the technical design and delivery of complex retail, commercial and residential schemes in the UK. You will provide technical leadership across project teams and ensure compliance, quality and commercial performance.

You will act as a technical authority on Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements, conduct design reviews, mentor junior staff and support business development through fee proposals and client

Qualifications

• Chartered CIAT or equivalent professional qualification.
• Qualification in Architectural Technology or related discipline.
• 3-5 years’ experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• 3-5 years experience using Revit.

The Senior Architectural Technologist will lead the technical design and delivery of complex architectural projects, including retail, commercial and residential schemes. The role will provide technical leadership across project teams, ensuring compliance, quality, commercial performance and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership
• Lead the technical delivery of complex projects and multiple project teams.
• Act as a technical authority on Building Regulations, Building Safety Act requirements and construction detailing.
• Undertake technical reviews of project information before issue.
• Support practice-wide technical standards and quality assurance procedures.
• Mentor and develop junior technologists and technical staff.
• Project Management
• Manage project programmes, resources and fee budgets.
• Monitor project performance and profitability.
• Identify and manage project risks.
• Attend and lead client and consultant meetings.
• Building Safety
• Support Principal Designer duties under the Building Safety Act where required.
• Coordinate Gateway submissions and compliance documentation.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering fire remediation projects.
• Business Development
• Support fee proposals and bid submissions.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and new work streams.

Required Skills

• Chartered CIAT (or equivalent professional qualification).
• Qualification in Architectural Technology or related discipline.
• 3-5 years’ experience working as an Architectural Technologist.
• 3-5 years experience working with Revit.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrable experience leading technical teams,
• Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act requirements.
