Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is representing a well-established architectural practice in Newark seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead technical delivery on large-scale industrial projects. The role covers multi-stage design, coordination with clients and consultants, and mentoring junior staff, with a requirement for strong Revit/AutoCAD skills and knowledge of UK Building Regulations.

Office-based five days per week.

Qualifications

• Senior level experience as Architectural Technician or Technologist.
• Industrial-sector experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience across RIBA Work Stages and UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Take a senior role in design and delivery of large-scale industrial projects.
• Work across multiple RIBA Work Stages from early design to construction.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to studio development.

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded architectural practice based in Newark, with over 95 staff across three UK offices are seeking a talented Senior Architectural Technologist to join their team.

The practice has grown steadily over the last 15 years and has established a strong national reputation for delivering large-scale architectural projects across the Industrial and Infrastructure sectors. With 95% of their work coming from repeat clients, a substantial project pipeline and excellent long-term prospects, this is an opportunity to join a business where you can build a genuine long-term career rather than simply take your next role.

The practice specialises in a broad range of industrial projects, including warehousing, manufacturing, energy from waste, film and TV studios, aviation and transport, and data centres. Projects can range from complex individual facilities through to large-scale multi-unit developments.

With a significant proportion of work coming from reliable repeat clients, the practice offers excellent long‑term prospects and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within an experienced and supportive team.

Senior Architectural Technologist Overview

• Take a senior role in the design and technical delivery of a variety of large-scale architectural projects
• Work across multiple RIBA Work Stages, from early design and planning through to technical delivery and construction
• Prepare and coordinate detailed technical drawing packages and project information
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
• Assist with the coordination of design information and ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard
• Attend site visits and assist with resolving technical and construction‑related issues
• Support and mentor junior members of the architectural team
• Contribute to the continued development and success of the wider studio

Senior Architectural Technologist Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Architectural Technician / Technologist at a senior level
• Industrial‑sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential
• Experience across a range of RIBA Work Stages is desirable
• Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of UK Building Regulations
• Experience producing and coordinating technical drawing packages
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD would be preferred, although candidates with strong experience in either software will be considered
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and contractors
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage workload and work independently
• Candidates must be comfortable working five days per week from the Newark office
• Applicants should ideally live within approximately a 40‑minute commute of Newark
