Qualifications

Senior Architectural Technician for Leading Residential Studio

About the Role

We are momentarily hiring a professional Senior Architectural Technician/Technologist to join the team of a leading residential projects studio based near Southampton. With over 50 years producing some of the UKs finest residential developments and mixed-use communities, our client prides itself on bringing together a strong and enthusiastic team of professionals. This role demands confidence in all aspects of technical design, responsibility for budget plans and punctuality on delivery, every time. To become a key member of a bustling, proactive studio. A strong applicant will take up a delegating role within a team of technicians, responsible for overseeing the project's compliance to legislation, timescale and liaison with contractors and 3rd party consultants.

Key Responsibilities

Produce high-quality technical drawings for residential projects.

Interpret client briefs to create working drawings and technical documents.

Ensuring drawings meet all current Planning and Building Control Regulations and able to Identify Health and Safety Risk under CDM Regulations.

Assist in delegating projects to other technicians.

Oversee project timelines and maintain quality control.

Liaise with clients and external parties as necessary managing clientele expectations.

Seek opportunities for professional development and advancement within the technical team.

Advising on materials, technology and processes involved in building design.

Draw up risk assessments, looking at surveys and investigating other issues that could affect how a building is designed.

Reviewing design information for each project and keeping it up to date.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

At least five years of experience in the UK, specialising in residential/mixed-use projects for developer clients and national house builders.

Solid technical background with heightened comprehension of building regulations.

Competent in AutoCAD; REVIT proficiency is preferred but not obligatory.

Proficient understanding of M4 (CAT 2 & 3) & NDSS.

Strong working familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Motivated to advance and participate in CPD opportunities.

Possession of a valid, clean, UK Driver's License.
