Conrad Consulting is working with an award-winning leader in eco-friendly modular buildings, seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist for their Coventry team. The company offers turnkey services from planning to handover across sectors including Education, Commercial, and Leisure.

About the Role

The practice seeks a highly skilled Senior Architect or Technologist to join their expanding Coventry team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in architectural design and department management, especially within the Education sector, adhering to Department for Education standards. This role involves leading significant projects and expanding in Education and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).

You will oversee all phases of design and documentation, collaborating with architects and engineers, reporting to the Technical Director.

About You

The candidate should possess both design and technical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with BIM and an interest in passive design and sustainability are advantageous.

• Registered with ARB / CIAT, with about 10 years of post-chartered UK experience.
• Cross-sector experience, mainly in Education, with DFE framework delivery; experience in commercial and leisure sectors is a plus.
• Proven experience with BIM Level 2 workflows and environmental considerations.
• Track record in leading project teams and managing multiple projects from inception to completion.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach.
• Proficient in Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office; familiarity with NBS/Uniclass is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Passivhaus and timber frame construction is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the architectural team.
• Manage the design process from initial sketches to detailed designs, following RIBA Plan of Work.
• Prepare compliant designs per UK standards and regulations.
• Advise on materials considering sustainability.
• Author specifications and update technical info from manufacturers.
• Assist in statutory submissions and develop Pre-Construction Information.
• Support designing within budget, aiding value engineering.
• Participate in project reviews and coordinate with teams.
• Check architectural information before approval.
• Ensure document control compliance.
