Job summary

Baily Garner LLP is seeking a Senior Architect to join its Northern Architectural team, with work across Newcastle or Manchester. You will lead design teams, manage client briefs and coordinate multi-disciplinary packages, delivering projects across residential, care, education and emergency services in a BIM-enabled environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and strong knowledge of UK regulations, with flexible/hybrid working, and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Chartered Architect with RIBA accreditation or equivalent requirement.
• Post-chartership experience delivering projects through multiple RIBA stages.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit with strong BIM skills.
• Solid knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Approved Documents and planning policies.
• Able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience on UK projects, BIM environment preferred.
• Experience leading projects and teams.
• Strong client liaison and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams and meetings, and communicate with clients and consultants.
• Guide team members to produce high-quality deliverables.
• Support procurement and tender activities, including reviewing proposals.
• Develop client briefs, design proposals, drawings and specs.
• Coordinate architectural designs with consultants and project requirements.
• Undertake site analysis and surveys as needed.
• Lead planning and building regulations submissions and approvals.
• Prepare and deliver coordinated technical packages for tender and construction.
• Manage planning conditions and information provision.
• Review contractor and supplier information; conduct site inspections.
• Deliver projects across residential, care, education, and emergency services.
