Job summary

Lanpro, a market-leading multidisciplinary consultancy, seeks a Senior Arboriculture Consultant in Norwich. The role focuses on coordinating arboricultural surveys, preparing high-quality reports and assessments, and supporting projects across residential, historic, and energy sectors.

You will travel to sites, apply BS5837:2012 guidance, and contribute to the development of new arboricultural services while collaborating with a diverse team. Salary banding reflects experience.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Arboriculture, Forestry or related environmental discipline.
• Proven track record in arboricultural advisory roles and project delivery.
• Proficiency in BS5837:2012 tree surveying using relevant software.
• Experience in writing high-quality, concise reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and undertake arboricultural surveys and prepare reports/plans per BS5837:2012.
• Support delivery of Tree Survey Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Method Statements.
• Monitor arboricultural works on active construction sites.
• Conduct tree risk assessments and risk management appraisals.
• Identify veteran/ancient arboricultural features.
• Prepare quotations for arboricultural services.
• Support clients and internal teams with pragmatic technical solutions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior management and assist resolutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to new specialisms.

We are open to applications from candidates across the UK, however the ideal candidate will be based, or happy to travel to parts of Southern England. Therefore we have adverts for both our Norwich and London Office, however, this will be for one position only.

Salary banding from £34,000 to £45,000 dependent on experience.

If Successful, you will:

• Co-ordinate and undertake arboricultural surveys and prepare reports and plans in line with BS5837:2012 guidance (from pre-planning feasibility studies to construction stage support and everything in between).
• Support with the delivery of comprehensive Tree Survey Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
• Undertake arboricultural monitoring and supervision of works on active construction sites.
• Undertake tree risk assessments and associated risk management appraisals.
• Identify and assess veteran and ancient arboricultural features.
• Support with preparing quotations for arboricultural services.
• Act as specialist to support clients and internal teams with pragmatic solutions.
• Escalating complex issues to senior management and supporting with resolutions.
• Maintaining and building strong working relationships with existing and new clients.
• Assisting with the development of new arboricultural specialisms for the company.

Essential Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry or other related environmental discipline.
• Experience in a similar advisory role, with a proven track record of successful project management and delivery.
• Proficiency in tree surveying to BS5837:2012 with the use of relevant software.
• Demonstrable experience in writing high quality reports with attention to detail.
• Sound Knowledge of tree species identification, morphology, management, planning, legislation and best practice.
• Sound knowledge of pest and disease diagnostics, control measures and mitigation.
• Professional membership of an arboricultural / forestry industry body (or ability to obtain this).
• Ability to apply a proportional and pragmatic approach to technical challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce concise reports to high standards.
• Able and willing to travel to sites in varied weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Requirements

• A good working knowledge and ability to prepare scaled plans within AutoCAD and QGIS.
• Experience undertaking tree risk inspection using a relevant assessment matrix; e.g, QTRA, VALID, THREATS, etc.
• Managerial experience A Lantra accredited Professional Tree Inspector qualification.
