Job summary

Lanpro is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to lead landscape architecture projects, developing designs and providing technical guidance to junior team members.

You will prepare technical drawings, LVIA/TVIA, planting proposals, and planning documentation while coordinating with architects, planners, engineers and ecologists.

The role offers hybrid working, a diverse project mix across sectors, and ongoing professional development within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Landscape Institute degree and/or postgraduate qualification
• Professional experience in a landscape architecture consultancy
• Experience across RIBA Work Stages and planning
• Strong design and presentation skills
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Lead defined project workstreams to deliver on programmes and budgets
• Prepare landscape designs, drawings, planting proposals, visuals and planning documents
• Contribute to projects from site analysis through planning and detailed design
• Undertake site surveys, research and analysis
• Coordinate landscape information with architects, planners, engineers and ecologists
• Attend site visits, meetings and consultations
• Provide guidance to junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Support project managers with resources and financial aspects

We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to take responsibility for the delivery of landscape architecture projects and provide technical support and guidance to more junior members of the team. The role will involve developing landscape designs, preparing technical information and supporting projects through planning and design stages, while developing client and multidisciplinary working relationships.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and design capability, good project awareness and the ability to take increasing responsibility for project delivery.

If successful, you will:

• Take responsibility for defined project workstreams and deliver work to agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.
• Prepare landscape designs, technical drawings, plans, planting proposals, visualisations, reports and planning documentation.
• Contribute to projects from site analysis and concept development through planning and detailed design.
• Undertake landscape assessments, site surveys, research and analysis.
• Prepare and contribute to LVIA, TVIA and supporting evidence-base documents as required.
• Coordinate landscape information with architects, planners, engineers, ecologists and other consultants.
• Attend site visits, meetings, workshops and consultations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and external consultants.
• Provide guidance and support to Landscape Architects and Assistants.
• Support project managers with programme, resource and financial management.
• Contribute to fee proposals and tender submissions.
• Ensure work is delivered to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Lanpro procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Essential:

• Landscape Institute accredited degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
• Relevant professional experience within a landscape architecture consultancy.
• Strong experience in landscape design and technical drawing production.
• Understanding of landscape design principles and construction techniques.
• Understanding of LVIA and evidence-base documents supporting planning applications, development plans and policies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CAD software, Keyscape or similar planting software and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience of working across and delivery of projects at all RIBA Work Stages.
• Strong design, graphic and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
• Experience in the preparation of Landscape Management Plans (LMPs).
• Experience in the preparation of detailed hard and soft planting drawings.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or working towards chartership.
• Experience of project management, including financial control, reporting and programme management.
• Experience in working in collaborative design studios and workshops.
• Knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.
• Experience of public realm, residential, commercial or infrastructure projects.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior colleagues.
