Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited collaborates with Dudley Council to recruit an Arboriculture Officer for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on overseeing tree management, providing expert guidance, and ensuring safety compliance across the borough.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, inspections, and reporting while coordinating with planning and public stakeholder teams within a local government context.

Qualifications

• Recognised Arboriculture Qualification at National Diploma Level or higher.
• Experience in producing technical reports and professional documentation.
• Experience in tree inspections and condition assessments.
• Familiarity with Visual Tree Assessment (VTA).

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert arboricultural guidance to Council Members, Officers, Legal Services, Risk Management, and the public.
• Conduct tree inspections and assess their condition.
• Detect tree defects, diseases, decay and structural problems.
• Oversee arboricultural work programs and supervise contractors as needed.
• Develop technical reports, recommendations, and professional advice.
