Job summary

ASOS is hiring a Senior Applied Scientist to join the AI Demand Forecasting team in the UK. You will shape the scientific direction of the forecasting platform, designing advanced ML solutions that blend statistical modelling, deep learning and multimodal AI to deliver scalable forecasts for replenishment, pricing, and supply chain optimisation.

You will work with ML Engineers, data engineers, analysts, product managers and stakeholders to translate research into production, driving measurable

Qualifications

• Developing and deploying ML models in production environments.
• Applying statistical methods to forecast real-world demand.
• Experience in time series, probabilistic, and multimodal ML.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience with large datasets and distributed processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and evaluation of ML models for demand forecasting.
• Improve forecasting accuracy, robustness, and explainability across domains.
• Develop reusable modelling approaches for replenishment, pricing and supply chain.
• Research and prototype modern ML techniques for forecasting.
• Write production-grade Python code and deploy forecasting pipelines.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to productionise models at scale.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to colleagues.
