Job summary

Mistral AI in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Lead, Applied AI to drive technical strategy, execution, and delivery of enterprise AI solutions. You will lead project teams of Applied AI Engineers, ensuring deployment of Mistral AI products and development of scalable use cases.

You will bridge cutting-edge research with real-world applications, collaborating with research, product, and engineering teams to shape offerings, while mentoring engineers and guiding pre-sales engagements.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in AI/ML, CS, or related field.
• 7/8+ years in AI/ML with 2+ years in technical leadership (Tech Lead/Engineering Manager).
• Experience leading teams to deliver complex AI projects from prototype to production.
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and NLP deployments at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on code for critical parts of complex projects.
• Lead technical teams of Applied AI Engineers with mentorship and best practices.
• Lead pre-sales technical discussions translating customer requirements into solutions.
• Design and oversee complex AI systems including fine‑tuning, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with product, research and engineering to align with roadmaps and open-source initiatives.
