Job summary

WR Engineering in Manchester is seeking an Industrial Applications Engineer with a strong mechanical/process background to support global customers from an office-based role with international remit.

You will work with regional sales to create technically sound offers for industrial customers, design system-level solutions across heating, cooling, water transfer and high-pressure applications, and build energy savings and ROI models. Expect about 20% UK travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in industrial pumps, heavy industrial or process environments (metals, mining, cement, food & beverage, or other power and water-intensive industries).
• Experience in application engineering, technical offer creation, or process engineering roles.
• Ability to read, interpret, and commercially analyse P&IDs and process schematics.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end technical offers with regional sales teams.
• Ensure every offer is technically accurate and application-appropriate.
• Select solution architecture across heating, cooling, water transfer and high-pressure applications.
• Build energy savings calculations, ROI models and lifecycle cost cases.
• Engage with plant engineers, process managers and energy managers.
• Conduct site assessments and process audits to map system architectures.
• Analyse P&IDs.
